In recent months, I’ve started to learn and see the value in using YouTube to connect with customers.

In the plans are some informational videos on how-to’s and learning segments.

Further, when there is a big installation, to have fun with it and make some memory of the whole thing.

Here you will see a 15x time lapse of of temporary wall installation. Unfortunately the graphics are only meant to cover up a wall during construction, so inevitably they will be coming down.

I love the nature of DIY do it yourself.  It’s amazing what people come up with.

Over the past couple of years I’ve provided some cool signs for some great fans.  In particular, the Nik Lewis Nation, found on Twitter, @niklewisnation.

A few banners and signs later, the club has grown into the hundreds, hosting tail-gate parties and enough stoke to keep the Stampeder’s kicking butt all season.

BetaCuts Custom Vinyl has recently partnered up with Alex Lee Drift Team out of Calgary, Alberta.

If you’re not familiar with “drifting,” now is the time.  The object is to drive a road course with the object fairly simple (with out getting into the nitty gritty).  Lose traction, keep the car in a controlled slide from turn to turn and make yourself look good all while doing so.  Oh yes! Also add in another car just feet from your door and you have top-level tandem  drift action.

Alex Lee has worked his way through the local grassroots scene in Western Canada, ultimately obtaining the 2010 Drift Mania Championship title for Western Canada.  Doing so, qualified Alex to obtain an entry into the coveted Pro Circuit in the United States, called Formula D.

Alex is coming near to completion of his second season on the tour.  Competing against factory teams with big dollar sponsors, Alex seeks to learn from his idols, all the while, taking a notch out of them.  His car of choice is a LS3 powered, 1990 Toyota Cresta JZX81.  This ride is a 4 door Japanese import, which stands out in the pits and is extremely unique in its field.

He’s a young guy and has a tonne of potential.  BetaCuts see’s this in Alex and would like to wish him luck down the road with his driving endeavors.  We’ll be working on a high-profile graphic package for Alex’s car, as well, be supporting him with the small decal needs that come with needing to keep a Drift car looking top-shelf at all times.

Every so often BetaCuts is approached to step up and do work from scratch, with multiple iterations of a design until just the right fitment is made.

The first project was for a rear wheel on a Track bike.  I provided a “paint mask” cut-out to the client and he was able to make an effective stencil on his rear closed track wheel.  I think the off-centre look will make it look pretty cool as the wheel spins.

Drooooooooool. That is all.

The next project was for a Vespa 150 lxv.  More of a commemorative approach to the birth date of the daughter of said owner.  A custom fit was required and some measuring and test-cuts were made.  Thanks to calipers, precise measurements were capable.

I ensured to get a close-up, in order to show off the sexy aftermarket exhaust.

The material used was removable, which allowed for easy take-down at the end of the event.
The Cantina had a mirror with existing signage, which BetaCuts covered up with matte black and then added the logo.

The party was held in a space at Eau Claire Market in Calgary, Alberta.
